What is MOTS-c?

MOTS-c is a 16-amino-acid peptide encoded in the mitochondrial genome rather than the nucleus, one of a small family of mitochondrial-derived peptides. It is studied as a signalling molecule that links mitochondrial state to metabolic regulation, exercise response and cellular stress pathways such as AMPK. How is MOTS-c handled and stored?

Sealed vials are stored at -20°C away from light and keep for 24 months. To reconstitute, add bacteriostatic water slowly down the inside wall of the vial and swirl until clear; never shake.
