ARA-290, also called cibinetide, is an 11-amino-acid peptide derived from the helix B domain of erythropoietin. It binds the innate repair receptor without the haematopoietic activity of the parent hormone, which is the point of the fragment: tissue-protective signalling can be studied without the erythropoietic confound.
