What is KPV?
KPV is the tripeptide lysine-proline-valine, the C-terminal fragment of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone. The fragment retains the anti-inflammatory signalling associated with the parent hormone without its pigmentary activity, which is why it is studied separately from full-length alpha-MSH. How is KPV handled and stored?
Sealed vials are stored at -20°C away from light and keep for 24 months. To reconstitute, add bacteriostatic water slowly down the inside wall of the vial and swirl until clear; never shake.
