What is Semax?

Semax is a synthetic analogue of ACTH (4-10) extended with a proline-glycine-proline tail that resists enzymatic degradation. It is studied for effects on BDNF and NGF expression, and it carries none of the corticotropic activity of the parent hormone. Pepstral supplies it as a lyophilized powder for in-vitro laboratory research only.

What is Semax studied for?

  • BDNF and NGF expression assays
  • Neuroprotection models
  • ACTH fragment comparisons
  • Cognitive and attention research models

All applications above are in-vitro or preclinical research contexts. Semax is sold for laboratory research only and is not for human or animal use.

What does the certificate for lot SEM-2609-X show?

Every lot of Semax is tested by an independent US laboratory before it is listed. The report for lot SEM-2609-X is in the COA library and the lot number printed on the vial matches it. The current results:

How is Semax handled and stored?

Sealed vials are stored at -20°C away from light and keep for 24 months. To reconstitute, add bacteriostatic water slowly down the inside wall of the vial and swirl until clear; never shake. Once in solution, keep at 2 to 8°C and use within the 28-day window on the certificate. The reconstitution guide covers volumes and syringe units and the concentration table gives the numbers for this vial.

Frequently asked questions

Does Semax have ACTH activity?

No. The 4-10 fragment excludes the region responsible for corticotropic activity, which is what makes it useful for separating the two.

What does the PGP tail do?

Proline-glycine-proline resists peptidase cleavage, extending the fragment's half-life relative to the unmodified 4-10 sequence.

Is Semax for human use?

No. Every product on this site is sold for in-vitro laboratory research only and is not for human or animal consumption, diagnostic or therapeutic use.
